Chandappura Nattuchantha Revives Memories of the Past

Kadannappally-Panapuzha Grama Panchayat organized a Nattuchantha (Traditional Village Market) at Chandappura, reviving the memories of a bygone era when Chandappura was the main trade and marketing center for the panchayat and its neighboring areas.

The Nattuchantha and Jackfruit-Mango Fest, jointly organized by the Grama Panchayat and Kudumbashree CDS, was inaugurated by Mr. K. Padmanabhan, former President of the Grama Panchayat. The function was presided over by Mr. T. V. Chandran, President of the Grama Panchayat.

Among those who spoke on the occasion were Mrs. V. A. Komalavalli, Vice President; Mr. E. P. Balakrishnan, former President; Mrs. A. Rajalakshmi; Standing Committee Chairpersons Mr. P. Narayanan, Mr. T. V. Mohanan, and Ms. M. Nisha; Mr. T. Rajan and Mr. V. V. Govindan representing various political parties; and Ms. Sajitha P. K., Assistant Secretary, who offered felicitations.

Mr. T. Shibu Karun, Secretary of the Grama Panchayat, delivered the welcome address, and Mrs. Preetha M. V., CDS Chairperson, proposed the vote of thanks.

The Nattuchantha showcased a wide variety of local products prepared by Kudumbashree units from different wards of Kadannappally-Panapuzha Grama Panchayat. Visitors had the opportunity to view and purchase at reasonable prices a range of value-added jackfruit products, mango-based delicacies, fresh vegetables, and other traditional local food items. The market provided a platform for promoting local produce and celebrating the region’s agricultural and culinary traditions.
